Disclaimer
Independent and unaffiliated
Academy Dreams is an independent, private educational service. Not affiliated with the DoD or any service academy, and not endorsed or sponsored by the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Transportation, any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, any service academy, or any office of Congress. We cannot influence nominations or admissions decisions.
Names of the academies (the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy) are used only to describe the schools our guidance covers. We do not use their seals, logos or insignia, and nothing on this site should be read as an endorsement by any of them or by any government agency or official.
Example data
Some pages show example or mock data (marked “Example” or “MOCK”) to illustrate features. Example data is fictional and must not be relied on.
No guarantees
Nominations are made by members of Congress, the Vice President and other authorized sources; appointments are made only by the academies. We cannot influence, speed up or guarantee any nomination, appointment, medical qualification or waiver.
Accuracy of dates and information
We copy dates and requirements from official academy and government websites and show the source and date checked next to each one. Academies can change their processes at any time. The official academy website is always the final word — please confirm before you act.
Not legal, medical or financial advice
Our content is general educational guidance. For medical qualification questions, follow the instructions from the academy and the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB).
