Privacy notice
Written in simple terms. Last updated: .
The short version
- We collect the least information we need to help you.
- No third-party trackers and no analytics cookies. Any ads or sponsored content we run will be clearly labeled. We count visits anonymously with our hosting provider's privacy-friendly analytics (no cookies, nothing that identifies you, nothing sold) so we can see which pages help families most.
- We never sell or rent personal information.
- Students under 18 need a parent or guardian's confirmation; we use double opt-in for everyone.
- You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information at any time.
What we collect
- Email reminders: email, whether you're a student or parent, high school graduation year, the academies you're considering, and (optionally) first name, state and a parent/guardian email.
- Students under 18: a parent or guardian's email so they can confirm. We keep a record of the confirmation (time and form) as proof of consent.
- We don't collect: Social Security numbers, birth dates, street addresses, grades, test scores or medical information.
- Nomination guide: choosing a state happens in your browser; nothing is sent to us.
- Technical: our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security. We’ll state how long the host keeps these logs before launch.
How we use it
Only to provide the service you asked for: to contact you, show your plan, and send reminders you opt into. We don't use student information for advertising or profiling.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the site (for example hosting and email delivery), under contracts that limit their use of it. We do not share information with academies, the military, or congressional offices on your behalf unless you ask us to. We haven’t chosen an email provider yet; this notice will name it and our host before launch.
Children and teens
Our service is meant for high school students and their families. We do not knowingly create accounts for students under 18 without verified parent or guardian consent, and we do not intend to collect information from children under 13. A parent or guardian may review, change or delete their student's information and withdraw consent at any time.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep information only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete it. We haven’t set specific retention periods yet; this notice will list them before launch.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information. A contact address will be added here before launch.
Changes
If we change this notice in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and, for account holders, let you know by email.
